Mumbai
The story of a young cosmopolitan couple and their kids with a dream house.
The brief was to infuse glamour into the house and especially the living room. Each of the room was to be catered as per the client's progressive lifestyle and the aspirations of their two children. This 1775 sq.ft. residence in chembur has one bedroom for each of the kids, a Master bedroom and an additional Guest bedroom. The beauty of the house caters to the private elevator allowing the family to have access to a personal foyer entry inside the apartment itself and maintain their privacy. The foyer being the first visual picture of the apartment had to be a stand out luxury factor. An elegant mirror cladding with a foyer console with conspicuous golden accents has been all fused together. The very obvious ceiling with golden punctures bordered by matching wooden frames balances out the overstated jazz. The very finishes were led to spill over to the general lift lobby accessed by the guests. The wooden panels starting at the base of the door and running point blank across the area gives the illusion of linearity with very minimal emphasis on the restricted height. Soft spots illuminate the morass of the textured space highlighting the tinseled family name.
The aim was to incorporate the projector system with the humongous screen into the constricted height of the living space and yet have it infuse naturally into the design language given to the space. Utilizing the natural sunlight encasing the living room, maximum white ceiling was designed around on with a modern twist of a box out for the projector. To balance out the starkness of the wood and solid white, an amalgamation of floral prints and accents were used with stylish golden accents to bring out the understated jazz of the overall space. In keeping up with the ever evolving trends of patterns, a checkered curtain with a coordinating sheer was picked out. An understated element as such was needed to tie up the contrast of the different genres of style that is evident in this space.
The dining space being in its own element is a complete stand out. A solid wood based table top with glossy gold legs and finished with gorgeous place settings has hit the right chord. A glamour infused bar unit against the backdrop of grey tonal tiles was made to grace the elegance of the sit out. The adjoining kitchen was redone in contrasting corian that understates the beauty of the marble cladding from all angles. A subtle sliding partition was created to give the clients a personal space in the kitchen and to also add further character to an otherwise halted corner.
The Guest bedroom is the next visual treat visible from the common areas of the apartment. The aim was to keep it stylish yet a peaceful eye catching factor as compared to the glam infused areas on the way here. A bright blue kite shaped headboard dominates the bedroom which is balanced out by classic grey and white embroidered curtains. An eye catching storage unit with neat running wooden strips makes it very functional as a otherwise lost space. Maximum mirror panels reflect the natural light along with the dramatic spots thus giving a silvery elegance to the space.
The room of the youngest member of the family screams a vibrant boyish charm. The wooden headboard takes up the highlighting factor adjoining the same wooden paneling on the wardrobe. The interesting geometry of the panel that acts as a handle bar for the wardrobe has been creatively layered to give a three dimensional feel to the otherwise flat background. Shades of sand and accents of blues has been used in the overall room to maintain the youth and lightness of the room. The Daughter’s room on the other hand has assorted quirky factors starting with a lit up marble cladded bed. Adding to the exquisite bed, a study table for the bubbling lass cladded with the same marble and highlighted with matt gold foot rest all adds on to the charm that this room exhibits. A dresser which mirrors the elegance with specifically lit up exposed internals glams up the corners of the entry. The massive wardrobe infused with matt gold tints impresses the soft shade of the wood grains that take up the larger panels of the room. A thoughtfully picked out color for the headboard ties up the entire space as one.
The Master Bedroom being the parent of all rooms exhibits the grandness perspiring from the handcrafted panel of the ceiling merging to the vertical panels thus synthesizing all angles as one. The lighting has been keep minimal and some indirect thus engaging a dramatic ambience to the room. The vibrant red of the bed and headboard warms up the space with minimally placed golden accents. The mirror cladding reflects all the needed glam thus creating a knock dead factor right at the entry.
Curating a fabulous selection of home decor & interior inspiration for the urbane family with an eye for design only helped us in further developing the space catering to each of their individual needs.
