COOP RAU Building

Coop RAU is the largest Rural Water Supplier in Chile. His great contribution to Colbun has been praiseworthy for its inhabitants. And in its line of action, it required new spaces to serve people, as well as to host its administrative floor.

The double skin that looks exactly north, operates as a thermal barrier to be on the mirror of water that acts as a regulator. The access is protected by the eaves and the thermal barrier. The hall merges into the uses of the building, leaving the boxes in the back above the lucarna that operates eliminating excess heat in summer. The double skin delivers enough light to the general space of the building, achieving a great saving in energy.

The second level of administration also has natural light, but the wood lowers the scale. The rear access is hidden behind the boxes. The south facade is completely hermetic. The light in the eaves current as a curtain of interior space at night.
