Field 44 is Architecture Research Office’s proposal for a highly efficient practice field facility for an American university's renowned football program. Active and passive sustainable strategies are combined with conventional building systems to produce a design that is attractive, durable, and functional. In appearance and operation, Field 44 will be straightforward and low-tech, though its shed roof, entranceways, and graphic identity will make the building an iconic piece of architecture within a larger athletic campus.  In both its architecture and performance, Field 44 stands out as an important statement for the university's commitment to sustainability.
