The objective of this project aimed to develop a creation with the potential to endure for hundreds of years, if not indefinitely, given the challenges posed by rising sea levels and increasing occurrences of natural disasters. Contrary to this aim, my approach to the project was centered around constructing a structure that would not endure. Instead, it was intentionally designed to serve as a cautionary symbol for the rising tide. Over time, each component of the structure would be submerged, leaving no remnants behind. The lower triangles designated as office spaces, the middle section serving as walkable space, and the upper triangles designed as observation areas. The truss system was implemented to interconnect these three sections, while also providing essential structural support. By configuring one system as open, another as partially open, and the final one as completely enclosed, a comprehension of how light would interact with each respective space was achieved.
