Research and Development Center for Plastics and Recycled Plastics

In good old days of ‘life in plastic, it’s fantastic’ as Tupperware and
it’s home parties revolutionized the plastic industry in 1950’S led to
the acceptance of plastics for its unique appearance and texture and provided
the economical emancipation of women. The passion for polymers and
inefficiency in the waste management generated garbage pollution in our
oceans. To continue with this exploration in the current time where our
oceans are polluted with waste with a high concentration of plastics, a
Research and Development Center for Plastic and Recycled Plastics in
Staten Island, New York, is proposed which is located close to Atlantic
Garbage Patch. The center will celebrate the fantastic world of plastic;
likewise will research, develop new techniques and solutions for plastics
and will explore the possibilities of recycled plastics in the products
of tomorrow. The cultural aspects will be addressed in the visitor facilities
at R&D which will involve the community interested in the new
achievements of plastics and the recycling processes. In addition, the
R&D will control the movements of the robotic devices as they arrive and
departure from the dock.
