NEW INC is an incubator for people working at the intersection of art, design, and technology.
As the first museum-led cultural incubator, NEW INC was conceived of as a not-for-profit platform for furthering the New Museum’s ongoing commitment to new art and new ideas. Now in Year 7, NEW INC’s membership model continues to support a diverse range of creative practitioners with a values-driven program and safe space for gathering and developing new creative projects and businesses. NEW INC was cofounded by New Museum’s Toby Devan Lewis Director, Lisa Phillips and Deputy Director, Karen Wong in 2014.
"Can arts, tech, and design address the mounting challenges we face today?"
The Hybrid Practice track of NEW INC includes "multidisciplinary practitioners who are experimenting and problem-solving around creative, speculative, and interdisciplinary projects, [...] occupying a niche in the margins, at the seams, and in other liminal arts, tech, and design spaces."
All tracks align with NEW INC's values of Idealistic Entrepreneurship, Creative Excellence, Experimentation, Interdisciplinary Collaboration, Cultural Innovation, and Equity.
