We represnted the city of Rome by designing the pavilion Hortus Romani at the Horticulture Expo 2021 held in Yangzhou, China.

Hortus Romani and the Rome Pavilion are a synthesis of an architectural space integrated with vertical and horizontal green solutions that could represent the material and immaterial excellence of the Roman City and its surrounding areas. As the Rome team, we designed the garden with two principles that incorporated the history and culture of Rome: green architecture with low carbon solutions and innovative green building integrations and urban agriculture for an ecological transition and Green Deal.
The pavilion was designed to provide opportunity for collaboration in the academic, institutional and economic fields between Rome and Chinese Cities and an opportunity to demonstrate how to strengthen the cooperation for increasingly sustainable urban systems close to their inhabitants. The aim was to respectfully showcase quintessential elements of European gardens, pavilions and other unique green features. The scheme included fountains, pavilions, shaded walkways, greenery and an amphitheatre.
