Thermal Center in Madrid

The project consists of a garden plaza for the La Latina neighborhood and its surroundings; it is the minimum project intervention used with the maximum impact generated on the city. The emptying of the plaza consists of the abstraction of a prismatic volumetry of the Madrid urban canvas to place it in the central space of the plaza. This proposal sets me apart from the environment, making it more flexible to generate a buried space of hot springs. A multiple tour of the urban space is created with an ‘infinite’ view of the square.

The emptying of the current plaza corresponds to the need for a large meeting space for all residents; it is a ‘democitas’ space (Roman forum style) generated around the centerpiece on an immense plant mantle, which invites the gathering of the entire neighborhood.
