As part of the DW Architects Team we produced - Kachina Estates

Nestled into an acre-sized, pie shaped cul-de-sac, the site’s unique challenges came in the form of lot geometry, western primary views, and limited southern exposure. While the lot shape had a heavy influence on the home organization, the western views and the need for western solar protection created the general massing hierarchy.

With indoor-outdoor living as a priority in these four luxury speculative projects, connecting indoor and outdoor with organizational flow as well as materials melded spaces together. Seamless connection of the interior and covered exterior spaces through use of re-entrant pocketing glass doors extends public spaces to the outdoors. Highlighting the fantastic Camelback Mountain views was also a priority for main living spaces and outdoor spaces, too.

The residences range in size from 5,500 to 6,500 square feet.

Kachina Estates was named an Award of Merit winner at the 2019 Gold Nugget Awards in the category of Best Residential Detached Collection of the Year. The annual awards ceremony was held at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference in San Francisco, CA in May.
