This project constructs a new 9,730-SF addition, which relocates and expands the existing offices for rehabilitation services and the prosthetic department. Spaces include exam rooms and mobility / testing rooms for prosthetics. The project aims to centralize staff offices and storage spaces which are currently scattered throughout the hospital.
In addition to improving efficiency through consolidation efforts, AE Works’ design also provides an exterior entrance to make it easier for patients to get to the clinic, rather than going through the main hospital.
This project was particularly challenging because it was designed concurrently with an addition that was not yet built. AE Works met the challenge and exceeded the design schedule in 135 days instead of the original allotted 150 days. This addition was also designed for a future 2 floor expansion.
Infrastructure systems were designed to support this expansion including the following integral 24/7 systems:
Status: Built
Location: Altoona, PA, US
Firm Role: Prime - Project Management, Architecture, MEP Engineering, Construction Administration
