About

I am an energetic, outgoing, hard-working individual who continually strives to learn and improve with each day. Every past experience has helped mould me to be who I am now. These experiences have come from school, sports, traveling, and much more. I have recently graduated from the Welsh School of Architecture at Cardiff University. Architecture is something I have had a passion for since I was eight and it has grown with every year. It stems from the desire to want to bring a positive change in our world, which I strongly believe can be done with quality, meaningful architecture.

I also enjoy playing ultimate frisbee, a fast-growing sport, and was lucky enough to also spend my time at Cardiff playing for the university’s team. In my last two years at Cardiff, I was voted to be the Men’s First Team Captain, which was an honour and an incredible learning experience.

Traveling plays a big part in my interests as I love to learn and experience different cultures. I think this comes from living in Toronto where I have been exposed to so many different cultures. Seeing new things is an eye-opener and brings about so many experiences I could only have first hand.

In my current position, I am a co-founder to a design-build studio called CAUKIN. In the past two years, we have completed three projects in Cambodia and Indonesia. All three projects were playgrounds designed and built by our team and a group of volunteers. Architecture, to me, is a way to create narratives between the natural and built world; and it is important to create relationships with its community. There are many cultural and social issues in our world, and architecture is one way that we, as designers, can start to help fix those issues. A lot of these thoughts resonate with me in the work I do with CAUKIN and provide me with inspiration. Although I have no practical experience in an office yet, I feel the skills and experiences I have gained can help benefit your studio.
