Guangzhou SHOKAI Longfor·The Skyline Mock-up Room

Located in the west side of Baiyun Mountain, SHOKAI Longfor·The Skyline is a top luxury residence that specially designed for urban elites. Through thorough analysis of the projects marketing positioning and the needs of urban elites, Metropolitan Space Art has the traditional and local culture ingeniously interpreted with a modern approach. Going beyond the boundary of different cultures, designers manage to accommodate various culture elements within one space, deftly presenting an elegant home with peculiar personality.

Coffee table, TV background wall in the living room and table in the dining area echo to each other, while the natural marble textures in different shades resembles a beautiful landscape painting. With a design approach of “simile”, a generous and unrestrained aura has being created in the two connected space. Crystal ornaments themes Taiji has further elaborated the space’s grandeur spirit. Original gray leather sofa from Minotti, carpets and leather chair in the restaurant with unaffected design have perfectly showcase the simple while luxuriant modern style of living, and have also anchored the flowing grace and formed up an elegant, demure and grandiose space layout.

Facing the entrance vestibule, the sky garden is decorated with guest-greeting pine. Accompanied by inverted chunky round stone, the elegant gesture of the inclined pine has been fully displayed. Designers use rustic natural scenes to echo the landscape painting-like dining area, making up a visual focus that not only showcases the host’s hospitality but also adds lively and artistic aesthetics touch into the space. Chairs by the premium Italian brand Minotti help to create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.

Exemplary persons are often referred to as jades, for this kind of stone embraces five virtues-- benevolence, justice, wisdom, courage and purity. Jade collections full of the study room manifest the host’s hobby and also his/her character. Gradient jasper has been extracted from jade, and applied into different areas of main bedroom to showcase the host’s personality. Rugs, bedding cushions, vase on the nightstand, decorative cabinets, hanging paintings and ornaments in the main bedroom are in different shades of jasper, making the room warm, elegant and enjoy great flow. The gradient jasper also introduces the verdant Baiyun mountain into the interior. When the indoor jasper blends with the outdoor green, the space has been expanded and set free from the tedium of single color. Designers’ ingenuity makes it possible for nature, culture and personality to be seamlessly combined in the bedroom space.

Material palettes of furniture is another approach to balance different cultural elements. As an old saying goes, “Without discipline, no Fang or Yuan (nothing) can be accomplished”. The Fang and Yuan (Square and Round) culture has in-depth influence in China. Designers extract intersecting square and round shapes from traditional architecture, in combination with western metal and leather, creating tailor-made cabinet door handles with Chinese aesthetics. With wooden cabinet in simple modern style scattered at various space, the classic and implicit charm of Chinese culture has been fully displayed. Cold-colored metal cabinet edgings neutralize the dullness of the dark wood cabinet, while the grooved leather surface of the wood desk tells the story of British gentleman’s meticulousness.

Bed background wall of the kid’s room is decorated with a panoramic architectural landscape painting by Canadian digital art pioneer Paul-ÉmileRious, which not only manifests the little host’s hobby but also adds an artistic touch into the overall residence.

The coexistence of multiple cultures is an embodiment of the most distinguished cultural characteristics of Guangzhou-- the spirit of inclusiveness. Metropolitan Space Art ingeniously create the mock-up room of SHOKAI Longfor·The Skyline to be a perfect combination of local cultures, traditions and modern styles, showcasing the supreme tastes of top-level residence while providing a low-key luxury way of living for urban elites.
