Miller House – Private Residence, Plymouth Meeting, PA – [2002-2003] This Combination of stone masonry and wood framed pitched roof structure has been my single private residence project at PZS. For me the design layout of this contemporary house embraces the site at two fronts; It provides a private yet welcoming entrance facing the street. Also introduces a dramatic rear wall punctured with ceiling high windows. The backyard overlooks a 3-acre property with an outdoor pool and BBQ area. The central open floor plan integrates a dual-sided fireplace for Living and Dining spaces. The high vaulted ceiling in the middle, flanked by two distinct living spaces to the right and left of the plan. To the southeast is the kitchen, a two car garage, mudroom and two children's bedrooms. The southwest is a master suite with a billiards room and a bar. The central family living room bridges the separation of parent space and child space. Exterior cut stone materials were chosen to be unobtrusive, organic and to blend into the existing landscape.
