The existing heavy freight-sorting hub encompassed 500,000 sf originally.  This first phase expansion created a facility that would increase the internal sort area by 200,000 sf with additional conveyor systems and incorporate a new structure to house truck docks, support offices, and food service areas in an additional 250,000 sf.   Proposed in phases and according to an $80 million master plan, this first phase cost $40 million.

I worked as the Architectural Project Manager and primary design consultant for this project under another concern.  The project was completed in 1999.
 

This facility was completed but is no longer in operation.
