Inspired by the geometry of molds for gold ingots, the historical standard of currency, the design for this currency gallery features a field of bills and coins organized by a modular grid as a backdrop for larger display panels that feature object groupings by theme. Designed to accommodate rotating displays of varying sizes, the flexible design allows for as many or as few display panels, depending on the rotation. All casework was conservation grade with an LED lighting system and passive environmental system to meet collection conservation requirements. We designed the gallery, casework, exhibition design, graphic design, and lighting.
