Located in Chelsea, this HIV/AIDS clinic was an interior renovation of three floors of an existing commercial building.  The treatment facility includes exam rooms, therapy offices, dental stations, group meeting rooms, a pharmacy, doctors’ offices and support spaces.  The design of this facility is a departure from the standard clinic, as it features a shared doctor “command center,” which facilitates efficiency and collaboration between multiple physicians treating the same patient.   This central area allows for multiple doctors to cycle in and out and exchange diagnoses and treatments, while the patient can remain in one exam room.  The patient areas, composed of therapy offices and examination rooms, surround the command center providing a direct visual and physical connection.
