The project addresses the issues of climate change, sea level rise, and diurnal tidal flooding in Broad Channel, NY. This proposed extension to the existing Wildlife Refuge elevates the submerging ‘backyard marsh’ to a zone for ecological exploration, by means of a highly experiential discovery trail, a series of follies, and two programmatic nodes – a boating center and a research facility.
