Undergraduate Thesis (Recipient of Citation for Design Excellence and SOURCE Academic Research Grant)
This thesis uses pre-existing local phenomena in Dubai to construct a near-future scenario where underlying political, economic, and cultural systems are exploited to demonstrate the politics of aesthetics and their ability to alter a context and its existing socio-economic infrastructure. By imposing unfamiliar forms to redistribute the sensible and allow form, composition, and aesthetics to operate politically and project alternative futures.
