Development One, Inc. completed the retrofit and build-out of over 6,000 square feet of existing office space into a U.S. District Courtroom. The project involved the design of a judge’s bench, jury box, witness stand, and court recorder’s station. Additionally, a holding facility adjacent to the court was designed with two holding cells and a prisoner transfer area.

Courtroom acoustics and sound privacy were of utmost importance in this design, as well as strict requirements for physical and electronic security. The courtroom featured a sophisticated audio/visual evidence presentation system, as well as highly detailed custom millwork and high-end stone interior finishes. The project was designed to achieve a LEED rating of Silver or better.
