Blue House - Cerviño 3955

Casa Azul is the renovation of a housing unit in Cerviño 3955 building, built by Alejandro Virasoro in 1959 in Palermo neighborhood, city of Buenos Aires.

The project takes the grayish blue color of the original facade and brings it into the interior of the apartment. Doors, floors, furniture, countertops, curtains and windows are dyed in different shades of blue.

The distribution of the interior spaces remains similar to the original project, although with some variations. The corner balcony overlooking the Ecopark (canceled in a previous intervention) is recovered and an exterior glass enclosure is added that turns it into a space that is a terrace and a winter garden. The area formerly intended for housing the domestic service staff is eliminated to expand the kitchen space. In bedrooms, circulation is reorganized to increase the privacy of its inhabitants and guatambú phenolic is used as flooring to provide warmth. In the main room, an in-suite bathroom is added.
