The library of the future begs the question of what programmatically defines a library that is expected to push the boundaries of knowledge? In this studio the technical details of constructing a building are interlaced with the design aspects of architecture. Further investigation of the modern and post modern library reveal the need for a center that incorporates a place for initial growth, essentially a children’s library, and a place to further nurture that growth. The library of the future boasts a digital collection that layers information and incorporates spaces for reflection in which knowledge can be processed. Workspaces are designed to be cylinders that filter information and allow for semi-private space.
