Framingham State University

The new housing capacity building at Framingham State University was built to house the growing population of students that were choosing to stay on campus rather than commute to and from the school. The team worked closely with interior consultants in order to ensure that all the spaces would motivate students to socialize and succeed in their academic fields. The second floor lounge is visible from the exterior and draws people into the monumental stairs below leading into campus. Dispersed throughout the building are recreational spaces mixed in with conference and study rooms to facilitate group study sessions. The dorm rooms were designed to have shared bathrooms and either single rooms or double rooms. This building is set to be finished by 2016 and will house around 150 students at a time.
