Historic Preservation - Documenting a 17th Century Croatian Village

The recordation and analysis of a 17th century village on the island of Drvenik Veli, Croatia was the primary goal of the 2010 summer field preservation program. A week was spent on the island where the village of Brda, comprised of approximately five buildings, 10 animal pens, 3 cisterns, and 1 mill, was documented and recorded with the intension of future preservation.

The findings were presented to the Croatian Governemnt in initial attempts to get this village on their Histoirc Register of Protected Places in September of 2010.

Featured below are hand drawings of a proposed restoration to one of the buildings and a plan, section, and elevation of the prominent complex on site.
