I spent my first semester of Senior year in Rome, Italy. For our studio here we had to turn an existing historical sight into a lighting showroom for one of Italy's leading lighting designers. We were given strict rules about what we could and couldn't touch in this ancient space on the streets of Rome. We had to completely redesign the space and design a unique shop window.
This concept was based on the interior space of the Blue Gratto Cave in Capri, Italy. This cave would be nothing more that an ordinary cave if not for the unique affect that sun light has upon it. The cave shows us the power of light in a whole new way; this is what my showroom strives to do.
