I am Tingwei Xu. I come from China. Now I am a current graduate architecture student in UPenn.
During undergraduate, I Formed a solid foundation in profession, a well knowledge in theory, aesthetics, structure, construction, and a strong sense of design. Also I Developed proficiency in CAD and graphic programs with intensive use and self-study. Trained for hand drawing and water-color painting.
In UPenn, I Worked on studio projects with nonlinear methodology; inspired by the new design philosophy. During Ferda Kolatan and Ali Rahim’s studio, I have been trained how to use multiple digital tools to generate unique designs. My studio work in Ferda Kolatan studio was published on eVolo and UPenn’s student publication “The Daily Pennsylvanian”. Also, school of design offered field trips in Germany and Japan to me, which extended my vision of design and architecture largely.
My only job experience is a four-month full time internship in Vector Architects. It is not long but during that time I can fortunately participate the whole design process from architecture to urban scale. I was competent for multiple task such as digital modeling, rendering, diagram graphic even meeting with clients.
In sum, maybe I am now not so experienced in professional field. But I believe my current skills, my ability in learning and my passion in working can make me qualified a job place.
