I just completed my graduate studies at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture. As a thesis project, I researched the phenomenology of aural architecture and used Ann Arbor for the site of the Sound Exposition with a soundscaping urban plan.
I was born deaf and have a cochlear implant. I am able to communicate with others verbally and attentively. Not having a sense of hearing ignited my cognitive ability to design conceptual architectural spaces and graphics. The loss of a physical sense evoked the inspiration to share the sensibility of sound environments for the architecture thesis project.
Upon the completion of graduation, I am not fully interested to become a licensed architect. I have been interested becoming a designer. I have a passion in design because of innovation and experimentation. I have excelled from courses of Graphic Design (graduate elective), Design Studios and Multi-Media. In Graphic Design, I was given an opportunity to create animation video, environmental/retail space, logo, packaging concept, and a website. In prior, I have enjoyed creating experimental videos and visualizations. I have had experiences working at an industrial design firm in Chicago and at an architecture and facility engineering operations at Walt Disney World Resort. At the Disney World, I met and worked with several Imagineers, learning the scope of their creative development.
On the personal side, I enjoy painting, drawing, photography, traveling, and digital media. I am a Packers fan by heart - I owned a share and have season tickets. I love to run. I completed my first marathon in January 2011.
