About

Living close to a large urban environment most of my life has aided in my appreciation for both the natural and built environments. More importantly, it has motivated me to study the liminality between architecture and ecology. I believe the most pressing contemporary issues are those concerning the transformation and integration of architecture and environmental systems.

Educated design, in the very initial discussion, creates the most successful architecture. Understanding the site, landscape, local community, materials, and much more are all integral when creating ecologically sensitive and intuitive designs. Through research, a comparison between nature and architecture begin to formulate the boundaries and a basis for physical design. This design approach can be seen in my projects such as 20k Leagues under the Sea, Connections, Weaving Membrane, along with many others.

I have been lucky enough to study and work architecture in cities around the world. Spending an academic year studying in Versailles, France allowed me numerous opportunities to explore European architecture in depth. Additionally, I was selected to participate in a research studio which traveled to Tokyo, Japan. While in Japan, I was able to submerge myself and study in a culture unlike the western culture which I am accustom. Currently, I am working as an intern architect at Bischofberger Baier GmbH in Zürich, Switzerland.I believe this experience has enriched me as a designer and problem-solver focusing on research, detailing and construction, and grasping how to situate architecture within an urban context.

In addition to working and traveling, I intend on graduate school in the future to complete my architecture education.
