The transformation of an outdated '80's saltbox on the beach in Southern California into a state of the art contemporary family vacation home.  Some challenges were to have 4 bedrooms with their own baths as well as 3 powder rooms.  A massive eight person hot tub on the roof deck required hundreds of hours of structural engineering and a crane.  The entry to the home featured stairs just 5 feet front the door and I wanted the first this you see to be the beach so I created a stunning set of floating stairs that allowed you to see through them by eliminating the risers.  The massive fireplace structure, clad in wedge shaped limestone tiles,  starts on the main floor family room and rises all the way through the second floor and third floor roof deck. This project is the one I am most proud of.
