Job Description:
Bowery Group is innovative, multidisciplinary full service architecture, design-build firm based in Los Angeles, specializing in high-end modern residential homes. With many years of experience on a wide variety of residential projects, we offer a strong design aesthetic, invaluable insight and resources, and unique experience thoughtfully crafted around our clients’ dreams.

Our design unit, Bowery Design Group, currently has an opening for a Architectural Designer/Project Manager. We're looking for a self-motivated, organized, team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude to work closely with our Design team as a supporting staff member in performing professional services and producing deliverables for our clients.

The ideal candidate will be team oriented and an excellent communicator, self-motivated, thorough, focused and comfortable in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

He/she will be able to perform routine aspects of high-end residential design assignments, under minimum supervision, subsequently providing plans for high-end residential homes, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data.

DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Direct and responsible experience in a broad range of high-end residential building and construction types.
  • Knowledge of constructability and cost containment, with emphasis on design-build delivery and fast track permitting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants and vendors.
  • Highly developed skills in client communications, contract documentation, project scheduling, team leadership, building design, technical detailing, consultant coordination, construction administration.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Baseline Hillside Ordinance, building codes, building departments, review boards, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Track record of realized and/or published projects.
  • Experience in resource planning, project management and project scheduling.
  • Personable, with a hands-on approach.
  • Proficiency with Autocad, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for modern high-end residential homes.
  • Ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly with a willingness to learn and accept new challenges.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Multi-tasking ability and good judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks against deadlines and other metrics.
  • Self-starter, motivated, takes initiative, has strong work ethic.
  • Successful candidate must demonstrate excellent AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Photo Shop and Illustrator Design skills. Revit knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages High-end Residential Projects at all phases.
  • Manages production of all documents from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Manages the construction administration.
  • Ensures quality control and the successful realization of design intent.
  • Manages milestones, budgets and schedules.
  • Overall technical resource for the office and CM.
  • Provide leadership on technical issues and quality of detailing and construction documents.

JOB Requirements:

Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture from an accredited school.
Experience: 5 years experience
Registrations: None.
