Sustainability Advisor, 2007-09
Through Brightworks I helped organizations and building developers, owners and operators
become more successful in integrating core principles of sustainability into their work. I managed
LEED and sustainability programs for building projects of all types and sizes. A large part of my efforts were focused on client and design team education through their first steps into green building. Through this work, I developed skills in presenting to large groups and top company executives. I also graphically developed sustainability tools, workshop materially, and internal project management tools. I taught over 10 workshops as well as a class for 150 people at CalGreen 2008 Conference.
My project experience at Brightworks includes:

"Jill is wonderfully adaptive, intelligent, and highly passionate about the field of sustainability and green building design and construction. When I first started work at Brightworks, Jill was the person I turned to for all my questions. Her warmth and expansive knowledge of green building helped me to learn the craft and to understand the nuances of sustainability consulting. She was an invaluable resource in our office. Jill was one of the first LEED Accredited Professionals in her undergraduate architecture program in Kansas. This was at a time when there were only a few LEED APs in the country, let alone in the Midwest! Jill recognized the importance of a green building rating system at a time and in a region where many of her peers and colleagues saw only a passing fad. This initiative and keen awareness are two of her greatest strengths. She has developed and taught a number of educational workshops on green building principles to students, old and young. She exudes [a comfortable and engaging] spirit whether she’s teaching to interns at the local green building networking events or owners of large high-rise office buildings. She has an uncanny ability to connect with everyone she meets."
