I remember reading about a proposal for a transitional retail project in New York about two years ago on either this site or Fast Company. The was slated for redevelopment and this was a temporary way to collect some rent while the permitting process was underway. Whether it was actually built or not, I'm not sure.
It would have been a pretty large complex, not your garden variety motley mix of half a dozen cargo containers, and it had multi-story screening devices along with some sort of transparent wrapping to give the project a sense of mass. I'm not sure how else to describe this to distinguish it from the countless pop-up retail projects out there, but I'm hoping someone might know what i'm talking about. Anyone?
