Does anyone know about other short term programs for those of us who aren't in school anymore? I'm familiar with ghost lab, and I'm looking for similar programs I could participate in for a semester, summer, etc.
Auburn has a design/build studio directed towards affordable housing. I think you can only participate if you are in their architecture program though. I'm in Dal's architecture program and we actually studied this one a little bit when discussing the Ghost Lab.

Just a heads up about the Ghost Lab. This summer it has moved towards a week-long symposium rather than an actual Design/Build lab, so if you are thinking of attending, don't expect to actually build something this summer (from what I've been told).
Yestermorrow in VT has a bunch of programs it is more into the natural side of construction but it looks like a great place. You can do everything from Timber frame to woodworking.
i know that the KU studio 804 is usually an entire year course, as is most of Auburn's programs [Rural Studio, Urban Studio]. another short term program that I know of [other than ghost lab] is Glenn Murcutt's "Masterclass". both are somewhat expensive [$4K], but I know Ghost lab is "all inclusive" with meals, transportation, tours of Brian's past projects, and lodging.

archeworks might also be an option, although i don't know how much building they do anymore.
