NPR reporter pic of the day

I have to give a shout out to MICHELLE (mEEEEEE-shell) NORRIS.

Again, I'm too lazy to find a picture of her, upload it on my Photobucket site, and post the tag her.

This is where her picture would go:

Fog...oooh, I love it when she says Berlusconi. I know nothing of italian, but in her mouth, it sounds so DANGEROUS!

And vado, I beat you to it on the faces comment.

Ari Shapiro looks like he's ready to follow Morpheus down the rabbit hole:

KAI RYSSDAL - that is the first pic I have seen of him, happy to see I can continue my mind-crush on him. He used to be the voice of the morning market report right? 10 to the hour, 10 minutes of silky voice heaven...now I think I can only hear him on weekends on my station.

i left a job once because all day every day nothing but NPR. I liked NPR but did you know that it can drive you insane after a while? Its like listening to Dentists talk for 8 hours a day, then out of nowhere some hoser from Minn comes on with a variety show

I cannot understand people's fascination with NPR... IMO it has to be the worst thing on the radio and compare it to listening to paint dry. A former co-worker used to listen to it all day and it made me want to slit my wrists while banging my head against a CMU wall...

I can't believe they'd ship off Jamie Tarabay to Iraq. Do you think the NPR staff was intimidated by her youthful good looks?

I bet Cokie Roberts is behind it:

I like this thread. The NPR girls are more my type than the hipster girls.

**SPECIAL CHALLENGE FOR TAL FANS** post a picture of Starlee Kine. I'm dying to know what she looks like.

You know, we should play GUESS that NPR correspondent (because Archinect turns everything into a "guess the such-and-such" game).

Guess who...?

I disagree mdler - whoever does the "Writers Almanac" (Garrison Keillor?) has the most boring voice ever. Puts me right to sleep...

Both the lead-in jingle to "All Things Considered" and "The Beat" triggers a Pavlovian response to start shooting...

That Hall and Oates "She's gone" video would be worth re-posting here now, vado - possibly the most bizarre imagery I've every seen, I loved it.

This thread is the best round here in awhile - feel the love, archinecteurs!

(sandmansc that 'self-portrait" especially had me laughing!)

WFYI sucks, but the local show Classical Connection is hosted by this guy:

Lousy pic, but maybe that's for the better.

His name is Michael Toulouse, a mellifluous name, and his voice is just totally adorable.

i would enjoy a good dose of NYC traffic reporting right now...

"There's a 95 minute backup on the Parkway heading past Fraternity Rock, 15-20 on the inbound Hudson River crossings, with 35-40 min delays on the outbound Holland and Lincoln and 90 min delays at the GWB.

an overturned tractor-trailer at the Gowanus is causing some trouble there. Take the Throgs Neck to avoid it. The LIE is bumper-2-bumper from LIC all the Way to Nassau, with the South State looking better then ever.

Avoid the Van Wyck if you're headed to JFK and take the Outer Borough instead.

The Goethals is closed for the weekend due to the increased DHS threat advisory, and all other roads lead to JERSEY."

my favorite name for any npr reporter is 'snik paprikosh' - don't want to burst my mental image by pulling up her headshot.

so if these folks have faces for radio, there is a disturbing new trend of newspaper reporters, broadcasting on npr with 'voices for newspaper' who really shouldn't be speaking over the airwaves....

then there are the npr voices that have made the transition to tv like steve bronchocio
