Ok more clues,

The practice is an amalgamation of two former minor starchitects who do alot of work in Belgium, Flanders and NL.

Quite well known for houses.

this has that Silverlake vibe, but the by landscape I would suspect not. I love how the wood never really seems to touch any other material... could be Germany.

Guessing by the oak, walnut, pre-cambrian-yet-river stone... I'm going to guess Pennsylvania or New York.

Those low lying junipers couldn't survive in Upstate New York or Western Pennsylvania... this has to be 50 miles within the seaboard.

It's a great essay, the architect's got such a fortified MO when it comes to his practice, it's refreshing to hear it so coherently dissected and discussed, it's a good little book. Birkhauser (actar?) is coming out with a new book on about his studio (which his father designed), tracing the history of the space and comparing how it operated then vs. now; looks really interesting.
