This project focuses solely on the facade design. The owners are looking for a new design for a previously built structure which is a combination of local characteristics and historical background, particularly focusing on the landscape elements of water and mountains.   

The character of the building draws from the hazy impressionistic landscape ink sketches of distant mountains to set the changing mood over the course of the day. With the undulating lines of the facade's reflection glowing in the ripples of the adjacent lake, the allusion of mountain terrain in the lines of the building visually merge with those of the water. Casting an atmospheric dreamy character in the foggy light of the dawn, the building emerges throughout the day with a variety of lighting effects as the sun travels across the sky. As dusk approaches, the white building becomes crystal clear set against the background of the darkness of the sky and the reflection in the foreground of the silent blue lake.
