Weird hanging cords are power cables; the thinner blue ones are ethernet. There are also ethernet jacks and power outlets in the walls: two for each desk. A power strip is a necessity.
My new desk (I'll move in, um, eventually.)
My desk during last semester (the wallspace!):
First year students are stuffed in the basement, so progressing from year to year is rising inside the building. They say it's spatial hierarchy, I say it's just that the fifth year students want bigger windows.
