#5: Social Time and Shrimp Cocktails at End-of-Year Exhibit.

    Time: 11:39:17PM
Place: Pink Couch, Living Room, Brooklyn Apartment
Song: ALL THE SONGS ON THE NEW CRYSTAL CASTLES ALBUM

Last saturday was a very busy day consisting of two birthday celebrations and being nice to people from LA. I woke up pressing the snooze button three times on my new HTC HD2 (my previous phone broke). Beautiful machine, big screen, annoying OS lag though. I guess that's what you get with a Windows Mobile phone, but I'm hopeful it will get better. Gonna tweak it. Funny thing happened also. I've been playing with the capacitive touch screen on my phone so much that today I pressed OK on a dialogue box that popped up on my Macbook's screen and got really befuddled when it didn't take the input. :) I guess it's time to get an iPAD!

So this is what happened last Saturday:
    1. Spent $65 for brunch at Double Crown for a friend's birthday (unlimited DIY Bloody Marys but still not work the $$$).

    2. Went to Prospect Park for my roommate's birthday. Gorgeous day in NYC- sunny, warm, and green grass.
    3. Drove an hour and a half to Columbia on my Vespa. It's exhilarating going 65 on the West Side Highway.
    4. Ended the day at Cafe Mogador in the East Village with my beau's friends from LA. Another expensive meal, but how do you gracefully say "I need to be a stingy bum". Although they did have really tasty Moroccan tea- minty and sweet.
    5. Scooted home and sleep.

This was my first experience at the End-of-Year Exhibit at GSAPP and they really SHOW THEIR WORK. The whole school turned into an interactive ad-hoc museum, kind of reminiscent of PS1 + crazy scientist laboratory. The work was displayed everywhere- in the basement cafe, landings, nooks and crannies, classrooms, Buell Hall, window sills, ceilings, etc. Every class and lab had a distinct identity and curation, some more interesting than others.

Honestly, can't wait for school to begin in the Fall. I want to take every single class. For my first year, I'm hoping to to make a compelling argument to skip the two history classes for classes in the Business School, The Entrepreneurial Manager and Decision Models. I like the idea of being able to compose a legitimate business plan and computer based decision modeling would be an interesting tool to have (using add-ons to Excel to run simulations on spreadsheet). Also I begin my internship with the Bronx Capital Projects with NYCPRD on Tuesday. It'll be difficult waking up at 7AM again.

Summer begins soon so I'm not sure what I'll post during then. I guess it'll be a trickle of stuff until the Fall. 'Til then.
