Senior architect for AECOM on the facilities and infrastructure project for the US Government’s AAMDS site in Poland, which will house the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) System. The master plan included the perimeter security, AT/FP, weapons standoffs, roadways, athletic fields, and buildings. The site consists of the necessary facilities to support an operational AAMDS, including missile MEB, magazine, launchers, radar, power plant, COMMS, water supply, fuel, fire station, general warehouse; a multi-purpose facility containing barracks, dining facility (DFAC), physical fitness center, medical center, MWR recreation center, locations exchange with outlet and barber; access control facility containing gate house with pass/decal functions, vehicle inspection, overhead cover and guard tower; and security control facility with operations control center, armory and security/admin spaces. Work includes all necessary supporting infrastructures, including underground or otherwise connecting communications, cabling, equipment, utilities, general road work, flatwork, paving, and parking lots. Low impact development and sustainable design principles are included in the design and construction of this project.
