The installation is a metaphor forthe entanglement betweenhumans, greenhouses, and thesun in El Ejido, the well-knowngreenhouse town in Spain. Thephotosynthetic icebergrepresents the spectacular butfragile greenhouse landscape,while the floating UFO, theUnstopping Fabricated Oasis,represents transnational organicfood corporations, the ghosts ofeco-capitalism. The terrain andthe megastructure create adreamland where human andnature coexist. However, thespectacle conceals the cheaplabor and plastic plague, makingthem invisible. By the sun andgreenhouses, organic food isfabricated into the production ofthe fetishism of Nature. Thegreenhouse industry is actually amega-monster that extractsnatural and human resources andreproduces nature into a purecommodity.
