After carefully considering the envelope of this typical Park Slope row house, Workstead designed a series of highly tailored elements that work within the existing structure of the building. On the top level, a steel ladder leading to an operable skylight above also serves as a frame for the bookshelf beyond. In the living room and bathroom, new cabinetry is seamed with steel handles that articulate a language that is carried through every scale of the project.
