The 72,500 square foot facility is located just off the Gulf Coast.
The design for the facility took a straightforward look at the four major programmatic areas and how they organized are organized in the facility, the siting of the facility and its relationship with the site frontage and sustainability. The owners of the facility clearly expressed that the facility did not have a ship yard look to it.
The planning solution was simple and utilized the depth of the site to screen the trades yards. The building then took in and expressed a simple solid / void solution into the smallest details. The street-front facade in reality screens the extremely industril view and controls the harsh southern sun as well as sculpts the facade.
