A challenging design task was to reuse a 20k existing building (metal structure in its entirety), with very limited "room" to manipulate the metal roof, and convert it to a headquarters for a local regional Bank.
The idea was to break up the public from the semi public and the private programmatic spaces as per the bank's initial HQ program, and create 3 distinct areas within the entire existing footprint. Then to make an overall connecting gesture by uniting all spaces with both a transparent mezzaninne and a substantial skylight traversing the width of the building.
