Community Concepts, Buffalo., Buffalo, NY, US, Planning Intern

Worked extensively on identifying and analyzing major areas of urban neglect within Buffalo downtown; specifically focusing on public amenities that were recently developed which are under a severe lack of maintenance and upkeep. The report generated interest in local news media and was quoted from in an article on the ‘Bowstring Bridge’ in Buffalo News.

Assisted the CENTER in the analytical phase of Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority’s (BMHA) HUD Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant. The CENTER is the planning coordinator for the project. This major two-year planning initiative has the goal of transforming the BMHA Commodore Perry development from a community of poverty, into a community of opportunity. This consisted of working with the Supportive Services Project Team to analyze the existing community supportive service structures and develop a community needs assessment, while gathering information on medical access, health literacy, access to supportive services, transportation, education, and employment. Additional work also consisted of working with the Housing and Neighborhoods working group and the project architect firm on the physical redesign of Perry.

Worked as an Architect with Ganti + Associates, an Architectural studio based in Mumbai and California, from Feb 2011. Responsibilities included preparing design presentations for clients, Material selection, coordinating with various consultants and construction drawings on a wide range of projects, especially on community master plans and townships. Projects included,
-Whagholi city Master plan. (120 acre community development).
-Design and presentations for central club house, Type H highrise developments and single family houses within Whagholi city Master Plan.
-Residency Apartments, Bandra, Mumbai. (12 storey residential condos).

Ashoka Buildcon, Mumbai, IN, Student Intern

Won a design competition organized by ASHOKA BUILDCON (nashik, India) for the redevelopment and urban rejuvenation of a small part of city to be christened Ashoka Nagar which involved enumerating broader urban redevelopment proposals on the lines of maximising self sustainability and reducing the burden on city corporation by streamlining sewage, transport and infrastructural amenities.

Completed an internship with Dutta Kannan and Architects (Bangalore, India) from june 2009 to september 2009 working on a plethora of diverse projects ranging from residences to commercial and retail spaces. Have worked extensively on conceptual design and construction drawings for elevated mass transit stations for B.M.R.C.L. (Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation). Projects included,
-Elevated Transit Stations for Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation
-Dayanand Sagar Institute of Technology. (campus planning and design).
-Big Bazaar commercial centre, Banglore.
-Electronic city tower, Bangalore (mixed use development).
