Limassol is on the southern coast of Cyprus and enjoys the reputation of a fun holiday destination for both locals and tourists. The town shoreline has dramatically improved in the last five years and the town has benefitted from several civil and public infrastructure projects. This proposal for a small `island` 300m offshore will offer the town a new dimension and will reinforce the maritime nature of the town. The new platform will accommodate a restaurant, cafeteria, a venue centre for private and civic functions, a marine biology institute that will offer research studies related to Cyprus and a weather and rescue control tower to monitor the ever expanding pleasure craft traffic in the bay. A water break will protect the visitor yacht moorings. An elevated pedestrian bridge connects the shore and the proposed parking area with the roof terrace on the island which leads to ramps, lifts and stairs that descend to sea level.
