As part of an on-call contract, TR Design Group was requested by San Bernardino County to renovate and expand an existing library in Trona, CA.  This facility, originally built in the 1970’s, functions as the local library but, since it is one of the only public buildings in this very small town, it also as the community gathering place for announcements, community events and children’s programs.  

New ADA restrooms were added on to the building along with a new office.  We relocated the circulation desk for better flow and integrated a “train” computer desk / interactive area for the kids.  The new circulation desk also provided for additional floor space for events.  We proposed to remove the existing acoustical ceiling tiles, grid and lights and replace them with new sealed LED lighting as the area has a beetle infestation two times per year and the beetles were getting in to the lights.
