The Buddhist library was designed to strengthen my research “ Exploration of formal aesthetics in extreme rainfall conditions”.The design is not only a case study of my research but aslo a real project designed for a Buddhist Culture Center in Danang city, Vietnam
Using a traditional typology of a house in central of Vietnam, the library building is proposed through specific orientation and location of roofs as well as apertures (walls and windows). Rain properties and acoustics (flowing, wavering, and falling) are matched to specific functions in the library (public space, lecture space, offices) to create a synomorphy between building and rain.
