The Kupferberg Center is comprised of five different arts venues scattered on the Queens College campus.  The goal of this recently completed project, in addition to upgrading and improving the audience experience at each space, was to create an identifiable precinct for the arts on the campus from these visually disparate and disconnected buildings. In finding a solution we consider how to use architecture to improve the visibility of the center on campus and from the surrounding community, how to effectively use a common palette of materials to unify a group of stylistically diverse campus buildings and how to use landscape and site elements to define a campus within the campus.
