The architectural design of Escola Classe Crixá is located in an expansion of the city of São Sebastião / DF, the Crixá neighborhood. As the area is not yet inhabited, the school will be an urban landmark in the region, an important element in the construction of the identity of this new community.
The school project adapted to the new pedagogical trends stimulates the student's creativity and also the presence of the community in the school environment. When designing the Escola Classe Crixá, the priority was to create a building that conveys the feeling of creative and stimulating receptivity, as opposed to the oppressive monumentality often experienced in schools. Therefore, the challenge is to adapt the extensive program of necessity so that the school is not a huge institutional building tied to bureaucracy, but that it makes reference to existing park schools in the Federal District.
Guided by these principles, the implementation of the proposed project respects the original topography of the land and, in the portion facing the main avenue it has only one floor, while the second floor emerges on the land, which can be perceived in a subtle way by the user at the medity that goes through the building. The school's entrance square is aligned with the side pedestrian crossing and the parking lot was set back to the bottom of the lot, giving priority to pedestrians and public transport users.
