-discussion on what is our current trend of throw away society. Our built environment revolves around what's new and cool. This product is about what is "cool" - mustaches, but its much more than that... its about timelessness and responsible sustainability. its about those remnant pieces you'll find in the expensive lumber yard that otherwise would go to making particle board or plywood. Its about your father's leather briefcase and how it wears with each day. Its about the V 1.0 and that's about it, no new reiterations. Its about caring for and grooming your environment. Its a humble instrument that connects us as humans. Man - tool. Tool - man. Man-made. its about the economy and its current trends to produce cheaply made goods to cycle money around. Its about art and conversational pieces. Product design does not have to be mass produced. It can be produced one product thoughtfully, slowly, sorting which cut to make because the pieces of lumber come in all shapes and sizes. It doesn't need to be outsourced because "we have to compete". Its much more than a bottom line. its about sustaining a culture and reminding us that a developer does not dictate the agenda every 15 years to up its equity. Its about keeping talent local and building up each others collaborative effort. Its about gender identification and its role that it plays as either power or subordinate, the notion of feminising domesticity should be reevaluated. It is about how things are perceived and what marketing, mass marketing, grass roots marketing does to the psychology and perception of value. Its is BroomStache.
