About

I am an experienced architect currently as an Architectural Designer at LaBella Associates, Jamestown, NY regional office. Before this opportunity, I was working as an Adjunct Instructor for the University at Buffalo's School of Architecture and Planning. My primary interest has been in Sustainable Design and Architecture. I am a graduate of the University at Buffalo’s Masters of Architecture program, where my work focused heavily on researching and finding creative potential solutions for different design issues within a range of community topics such as water management, wetlands, ecosystems, habitats, refugee housing + rehabilitation, primary education infrastructure, creative spaces, and public transport to housing, health care, institutional projects.

I completed my B. Arch in 2013 from the University of Pune, India. My interest in sustainable urbanization encouraged me to research transport infrastructure and propose solutions catered to future urban planning. This was the driving theme of my thesis which went on to be recognized and awarded in a city-wide competition conducted by the Architecture, Engineer Surveyor's Association (AESA). I am a registered architect in India and has worked in multiple firms primarily undertaking projects related to campus, educational institution, and commercial planning. I believe this industry experience enhanced my practical skills in dealing with all project stages starting with conceptualization, design, and finally, execution of the project. The responsibilities included landscape development, finding sustainable solutions for new developments, discussion & coordination with clients, committees, consultants to construction teams.

After working in India for 5 years, I intended to explore western architecture by pursuing a Master's degree in the US and contribute to the contemporary architecture and design philosophy of the country.

In my teaching role, I was conducting Sophomore Studio ARC202 and Urban Design elective for Graduate students. Prior teaching experience includes conducting Graduate Studio ARC 503/ 603 LAB - Arch Design Studio 3 and Architectural Media seminar ARC 511DIS - Architecture Media 1. Apart from my primary teaching and mentoring responsibilities, I was also teaching students the use of software media in architecture, thus conducting software workshops for Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, various mapping tools of GIS, 2D & 3D modelling, and other necessary tools for design representation.
